The Lake View Hotel, located on Mackinac Island near the Ferry Docks, is a distinctive and historical hotel only open from early spring to late fall. Victorian cottages and a historic village exude 19th Century charm. There are no cars on this island, but guests may get around using the horse-drawn taxis that serve as public transport on the island. The Lake View Hotel is Mackinac Island's oldest operating hotel and is a registered Michigan Historic Site. Located where Michigan's peninsulas meet, Mackinac Island is a peaceful and quiet destination, and at the center of the Lake View Hotel a beautiful atrium encloses an indoor heated pool, whirlpool and sauna. The hotel facilities include daily weekday newspapers, game room, concierge service, lobby coffee and safety deposit boxes at the front desk. Meeting and banquet rooms are available to accommodate guest's special events. Guests can dine at Goodfellows Restaurant and Grille that serves an American Cuisine daily for lunch and dinner - the Goodfellows Pub offers a happy hour and drink specials.
