Hotel Features.
Influenced by Spanish architecture and design, The Cliffs Resort wears a dreamy, sea-foam façade and a red-tiled roof. In the lobby, guests will encounter a cheerful atmosphere that is largely due to a myriad of arched windows, an inviting wood-burning fireplace and contemporary interior décor. To the delight of their esteemed clientele, the hotel staff presents afternoon wine-tastings on Fridays, and Saturday sunset sangria parties in the lobby. As evidence of their genuine interest in guest comfort, onsite massage therapists are available by appointment, and will perform their Swedish techniques either poolside, in guestrooms or in a spa studio. From the 7,000 square-foot poolside terrace and courtyard, guests will witness a scene of unprecedented beauty, as tremendous waves break against the rock below and grassy lawns serve as a platform for small gatherings and banquets. Inspired by the hotel's surrounding natural environment, each of the 165 guestrooms is elegantly arranged in hushed earth tones that are quickly juxtaposed by dark, Pacific-rim décor. With Italian marble bathrooms, sitting areas with work stations and some with private balconies with plantation shutters, these guestrooms offer intimacy to romantics and convenience to business professionals. Suites feature twice-daily maid service, turndown service, a refrigerator, sofa area with workstation, two 27-inch televisions, Jacuzzi tub, an Italian-tiled shower and a bidet.

Driving Directions

From San Luis Obispo Regional Airport:
Exit airport and turn left onto Broad Street/CA 229.
Proceed to first stoplight (Tank Farm Road).
Turn left and proceed one mile to next stoplight (South Higuera Street).
Turn left and proceed 1.5 miles to US 101 South ramp.
Take US 101 Southbound to Spyglass/Shell Beach Road exit.
At the bottom of ramp take two turns onto Frontage Road (Shell Beach Road). The Cliffs Resort is located on the west side of Shell Beach Road.
