Location.
The Sheraton Santa Maria El Paular is located in Rascafria, Spain, in the foothills of the Guadarrama Mountains within 17 kilometres of the local ski resort and 41 kilometres from El Escorial.

Hotel Features.
Housed in a 15th- century Carthusian monastery in the tranquil environs of the sun-drenched Castillian countryside, the Sheraton hotel is furnished in period style throughout and has a warm and welcoming ambience. The hotel offers a seasonal outdoor heated pool with a poolside bar. There is also a fully equipped fitness centre, tennis courts and a sauna. The hotel's courtyard, added to the monastery in the 17th century, was recently restored to its former glory.

The Sheraton Santa Maria El Paular offers three dining options. Bar Zaguan serves beverages, sandwiches and snacks, which can be enjoyed on the poolside terrace. The two restaurants offer regional and Mediterranean cuisine cooked in wood-fired ovens. Decor is traditional, featuring wooden beams and wrought-iron chandeliers.

The hotel offers seven meeting rooms and wireless Internet access is available throughout.

The Sheraton hotel has a games room and bicycle hire is available. Guests can also go skiing nearby (17 kilometres from the hotel) and the mountains offer many hiking opportunities.

Expert Tip. The church of San Andres Apostol in the peaceful centre of Rascafria dates from the 15th century. Restorations took place last century, and the church has retained its 16th-century vaults and coffered ceilings.

The easiest way to get to the hotel is by private car or taxi.

The Sheraton Santa Maria El Paular is located at km 26.5 of the M- 604.
Take the N-1 towards Burgos.
Turn off at exit 64 signposted M-604 Rascafria- Lozoya.
Almost immediately you will come across a roundabout. Follow signs for M-604 Rascafria. The exit for Rascafria is number 24 but do not turn off here. Instead, continue on to km 26.5.
