Purported to be the smallest hotel in Jerusalem, A Little House in the Colony is a 90-year-old building located on a tree-lined avenue. The hotel is air-conditioned and opens onto a balcony overlooking the garden. Public areas offer wireless Internet access.

The Little House offers a complimentary Israeli breakfast every morning. Breakfast can be served on the balcony during summer. Complimentary coffee and tea are available throughout the day. The dining room features basic self-catering facilities. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there are more than 20 restaurants on Emek Refaim Street.

A swimming pool can be found on Emek Refaim Street.

Expert Tip. The German colony is named for the German Templar protestants who settled in Jerusalem in the 19th century. Their stone-built houses, which give the colony a village atmosphere, are often decorated with biblical quotations inscribed in German Fraktur script.

Getting there.
The Nesher Shuttle Taxi runs directly to the Little House from the airport and costs around 10 USD per person; sheruts (shared taxis) have fixed rates per passenger. Taxis wait at level G, terminal 3, and the fare to the Little House is around 50 USD. Fares are higher at night. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around.
Buses 4, 14, 18 and 24 serve the German Colony. A single full-fare city bus ticket costs NIS 5.50. A kartisiya pass is valid for 20 journeys and is sold by bus drivers. Sherut shared taxi services have a fixed rate per passenger, typically 1 NIS more than a bus fare, and can take 10 people. Private taxis are also readily available. Central Jerusalem and the Old City are compact and easily explored on foot.

From Weizman avenue, turn left into Zalman Shazar Avenue.
Turn into Hanasi Ben Zvi Avenue.
Turn left into Ramban Street.
Turn into Keren Hayesod Street.
Turn into Bet Lechem Road. Take the second right into Lloyd George Street, where the Little House is located.
