Set on the private island of Motu amid verdant greenery, the boutique Sofitel Motu Bora Bora is a luxury resort designed in the traditional island style, with thatched bungalows built directly on the water and hillside. The hotel extends to a private beach, and offers massage services and a solarium. Guests can enjoy use of the sports facilities and spa at the nearby Sofitel Bora Bora, which can be reached by boat. There is a multilingual concierge and an onsite library, and further amenities include laundry facilities and room service.

The Sofitel Motu Bora Bora houses the Manu Tuki restaurant affording panoramic lagoon views and serving French and Polynesian dishes, and the Mako lounge bar with terrace area, offering a range of cocktails, drinks, and snacks. The hotel also houses a 'cigar cave'.

The hotel can organise a range of water sports including kayaking, scuba diving, snorkelling, and wind surfing.

Bungalows.
The 31 thatched bungalows are set amid tropical gardens or directly on the lagoon. All are decorated in a modern Polynesian style with exotic carved woods and rich fabrics. The island is well known for its excellent snorkelling and scuba diving opportunities, with its waters populated by brightly coloured fish, sharks, and range of manta rays. Driving Directions

From Bora Bora Airport (BRB):
Distance to the Sofitel Motu Bora Bora is 20 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' journey.

Getting there.
The airport is located on Motu (lagoon island), the resort on another. The hotel offers airport pick-up by boat (surcharge). It is also possible to reach the hotel via the town of Vaitape using complimentary shuttle boat and bus services.

Getting around. There is only one sealed road on Bora Bora, 32 kilometres in length, although some unsealed roads penetrate the mountainous interior. There is no public transportation, but hotels and some restaurants will pick up dinner guests who have made reservations. Taxis cannot be found on the street, but must be ordered by phone, either through the hotel or directly with several companies. Fares are not metered and should be agreed upon at the onset of the journey. Travellers should expect to pay around 1000 to 1500 XPF for shorter rides and 5000 XPF across the island. There is also a water taxi company; a ride to the mainland costs around 2000 XPF. All prices subject to change.
